House was nice and we enjoyed the location.

  2. Acker Family

After the first day we acclimated to the road noise and appreciated the convenience to Acadia, esp. with the back and forth for the 20 month old to nap. We have been to Acadia many times, and stayed in rentals from ME to CT to NJ to VA to FL, and we have never stayed in a home as beautiful as this one! The décor is tasteful and well-done, and the view is breathtaking! Truly blessed to stay here-every amenity including knives for cutting fish and flashlights for the grand children’s dance party. Wonderful memories for them! WOW did they hike! My dream would be to rent both houses one day and have the whole family. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home!

  3. Guest

My family and I had a lovely week-long stay at Covend Guest House. Though it is quite close to the main road, you are unaware once you are on the comfortable back deck with a great view of Hulls Cove and surroundings. The house was well equipped and had everything we needed for our stay. The beds were comfortable and we really enjoyed breakfast on the back deck! We would definitely stay at Covend Guest House again in the future.

  4. Misner family

This was a great house. We liked going hiking and finding cool crab shells, and eating ice cream from Utter Heaven. And getting breakfast from Cafe This Way. It was a good vacation!

  5. James

Great place. The rental company easy to deal with. Beautiful views!! We loved our stay there. A couple of things everyone should know. This is a picky host. But it shows in how well the house is cared for. How comfortable and clean it is. The property is beautiful.

  6. Guests from NY & OH

A blissful, refreshing, unforgettable getaway, cherished memoires were made! Perfect summer vacation and true escape and time to reset.

  7. Herbster Family

We enjoyed staying at Covend Guest House. The location is wonderful-Awesome sea life after 7:00pm. We also loved all the activities close by.
    Best wishes!

    From our grandson-
Loved the trail cutting across otter point to the ocean path and beach. Also loved the cave at Schoodic Overlook.

  8. Guesst from MI, DC and IL

Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor and Covend Guest House was everything we had hoped for plus more. Location, location, location. The house is well equipped, and comfortable. Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor are wonderful. Lulu Lobster boat tour gave us an overview and history of the Islands and area. Hiking, biking and kayaking, and swimming in the ocean are nice too. We loved it all! Thank you for the fond memories!

  9. Guest

It was perfect for us and the family! Brought our 11 month old along and it was so easy for her to go down for naps, close enough to Acadia, and super close to all the good restaurants! If we ever get back in the area we would stay here again!

  10. Guesst from CT

  16. Lori

The location is wonderful, just minutes to Acadia and downtown Bar Harbor. We loved being right on the cove and spent a lot of time exploring the beach or on the deck overlooking the water. The house was well stocked and we had everything we needed for a long stay. The property manager and owner both responded right away when we had a plumbing problem.

  17. Kearing Family from MN

Wonderful location, right down Lookout Point Road were I grew up. The accommodations were perfect! Enjoyed watching the fireworks from the deck which were spectacular. Acadia National Park was special to show grand children on their first visit to Maine. Kayaking in the cove was amazing.

  18. Savannah-Caroline-Lori-Harriet-Brad and Bob

We ranged in age from 2 too 72 and enjoyed our first time to this area. The weather was foggy for most of our visit, but we still went on adventures. A few highlights- A seal taking a nap at Sand Beach.
Earning junior Ranger badges at the Schoodic Point Nature Center.
Lobster and oysters from Julia at the Eden Farmers Market.
A bald Eagle overhead as we canoed in the Cove, sunsets at Abel’s
And Diver Ed’s boat ride and museum at COA. Thanks for the memories!

Covend Guest House was a great location for our family vacation to Bar Harbor and Acadia. Direct access to the beach, a short drive to town and Acadia National Park and a very clean and well organized property with plenty of room for us throughout the week. Many thanks!

  32. Talley family

This house is lovely and well designed, the location could not be better.
Our son met us here from LA and was so pleased to see such lush forestry and views. He actually hiked up Cadillac Mountain. The Scampi lobster roll at Testa’s was super. Thanks so much for a lovely week

Fantastic property with a great view and easy access to the park and surrounding area!

  34. Cobb family

Thank you for a fantastic visit! We have been to Bar Harbor with hotel stays, but this was perfect for our family, (us, our 6 year old and a 4 year old) and our grandparents to explore from a different pace and perspective in one of our most favorite places in the world. The cleanness and organized house, plus the beach access and views were a special treat. Hope to back in the future.

  35. Guest from TX

Enjoyed our stay at your beautiful house. Great accommodations and view by the water. Explored, climbed, hiked and shopped the area. Birthday sunrise on Cadillac for our son-in-law. Our ten year old loved the shoreline and catching crabs with his Mom, Dad and Grampy. Beautiful home, perfect vacation for our family.

  36. Matt, Linsey, Sydney (9) Maddison (7) and Graham (5)

This was out first trip to Bar Harbor and Acadia and it was amazing! The house was perfect for our family of five. The kids enjoyed most of their afternoons on the back porch or on the waster or shore. We loved how the house flowed easily and all the natural light and ocean breezes. Our favorites-Carriage roads, Ocean Path Hike, Jordan Pond Hike and Acadia Mountain (amazing views)
Kids favorites-kayaking on the water, diving in the waves at Sand Beach, swimming at Echo Lake, Diver Ed’s (great experience/hands on/boat ride) And Junior Ranger badge.
Must eats-Wild Maine blueberries, Side Street Café, Jordan Pond Ice Cream (get the blueberry), C-Rays Lobster, Gifford’s Ice Cream and Parsons Lobster for raw seafood to take home to cook.

  37. Michael

Newer cottage on Hulls Cove with air conditioning provided a perfect location and size for our family of six. The home is close proximity to the entrance of Acadia, Trenton and Bar Harbor, but provided an opportunity to step away from the summer crowds to enjoy a peaceful afternoon of skipping stones on your own private beach.

  38. Cristeen

What a perfect location this home is close to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. There are views of the bay from every bedroom.

  39. John

This home is beautiful. Neat, clean and very welcoming. Our stay was delightful, a wonderful place to stay when exploring Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.

  40. Chavron family

    Visiting from Ohio.
Our second visit to Maine, first to Mount Desert Island. Beautiful trails and convenient accommodations to enjoy it all. Ventured to Bass Harbor. We found it to be less populated with tourists, but same stunning trails. Seawall is a must see!
To all that call this home for a brief time, enjoy your stay and safe travels home.

  41. Guest

This is a new, nicely designed house in a wonderful location. We particularly loved the view of the cove from the windows and the deck. The location is very convenient for getting to both Bar Harbor and Acadia by car, bus or bicycle. Kayaking in the cove made it very special.

  42. Kari

Very nice place to stay. The house was excellent. Location not bad.

  43. Short & Bates families

    Greetings from California,
Our first time to visit Maine. So many great food and adventures. This house was a perfect location and six people looking forward to out next visit.
Beautiful accommodations and view. Thank you for your hospitality. Maine is in our hearts.

  44. Hanley family

Thank you for the amazing stay, we love Maine. We hiked many great trails such as Jordan Pond, Eagle Lake, ships Harbor, Wonderland and more. We had an amazing stay.

  45. Greenwalt family

    By Ellie- (age 12)
This was our first trip to Maine. It was allot of fun. We went on many hikes and went to downtown Bar Harbor a few times. My Dad and I went rock climbing for the first time and really liked it. We did three puzzle under the TV. It rained on our last two days but we had fun at the house. We went kayaking a few times when the water was calm. Thank you so much for letting us stay in such an amazing home. We loved it!

  46. Stephanie

This property was 8 minutes out of downtown Bar Harbor, so it was easy enough to go into town for food or shopping, but you still got the remoteness that you are looking for. The house is spacious and was a good size for two couples and an infant.

  47. Dellynda

    Five stars!!

  48. Hannah

I couldn’t believe we were able to find a rental with such a wonderful view so close to town. The VRBO was perfect for us and our friends with great access to explore the beach below. We loved sitting in the living room or out on the porch in the morning. We even saw a deer come across in front of our rental one morning. You are only a 3 minute drive from town and about a 10 minute drive from Acadia. We fell in love with Mount Desert Island and highly recommend staying here if you visit.

  49. Guest

Thank you for the wonderfully designed house to use as a home base while we explored the trails of Acadia. We loved waking up to sunrises, constant water views and coming back each evening to comfort. This was a celebratory trip after Covid. We choose this destination over Glacier, think we made the perfect choice!

  50. Guest from NY

What a wonderful time. We so much enjoyed your home, the views and the weather. Thank you!

  51. Guest

We had a wonderful week, first visit to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. We enjoyed lobsters at Thurston’s in Bernard, hearty breakfast here thanks to Hannaford grocery store being so close. Loved the shore path, lunch at Stewman’s, ice cream at Ben and Bill’s, drinks at the Bar Harbor Inn, bike rentals at Acadia Rentals.
Acadia Park must see: Sunset on Cadillac Summit, Ocean Trail, Jordan Pond circle loop trail, popovers at Jordan Pond House, Bubble south trail and views, biking carriage trails. And all the friendly people. Wonderful to return to this cozy home after our days excursions.

  52. Johnson Family

Thank you for letting us share your beautiful home. It was a great location to access the park and we enjoyed the views. The last time we were in the Acadia area was about 10 years ago, so it brought back many wonderful memories and we also found many new hiking trails to explore!! Flying Mountain, Beech Cliffs has wonderful views. We look forward to our next visit.

  53. Guest

We had an amazing time and enjoyed every minute of these wonderful views. We only had one stormy day after which we saw 3 seals feeding for over 45 minutes on Sand Beach. Nature cruise, carriage ride, lots of good food and views.

  54. Pelletier Family

Greeting from Connecticut!! Our first time to Acadia National Park and we attempted to see as much as possible. My two teenage sons are boy scouts and my husband is there Scout Master, so we hiked and hiked and climbed. The house was perfect-location, size, amenities, etc. Never enough time to do it all on vacation, but we know we will be back again for another visit. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable.

  55. Zak

New and well equipped house in a perfect location. 7 minutes to Bar Harbor and 7 minutes to the park.

  56. Lee & Wormuth families

Thank you for the fantastic fall getaway at Covend House. We had a wonderful time here and started each day watching the sunrise from the deck. Everyday was an adventure in Acadia/Bar Harbor. We loved Jordan Pond/ Bubbles. Another hike worth the work, Bald Point/Parkman, 360 views and great summit photos. Charlottes Legendary Lobster Pound (Southwest Harbor): YUM!! order the foot long lobster roll, two ways, one-side mayo and the other side warm butter. The best of both worlds! Sunset on Cadillac were amazing. There is still much left to do at Acadia. Looking forward to coming back. Happy Trails!

  57. Guest

Not wanting to venture flying in the COVID times, this was our first “car” vacation in several years; we couldn’t have picked a better spot! Beautiful home…wonderful views…fantastic Acadia scenery! Despite the sometimes fickle weather, we enjoyed over five days of Acadia adventures during our weeks stay. Some of our favorites included Cadillac Mountain (both sunset and sunrise), Thunder Hole, Jesup Path (great fall foliage) and the Jordan Pond Loop. Bar Harbor is a quaint New England town. We enjoyed browsing the many shops on a rainy afternoon. Island Artisans showcased the talents of many area artists and we were happy to support them and bring home a little piece of Maine. We are all seafood lovers and enjoyed different takes on lobster, clams and scallops from the Chart Room (next door), Gaylyn’s and West Street Cafe (highly recommend all three) Hard to leave such a special place. Definitely plan to take another car trip and return soon.

  58. Bryce

The location is centrally located with a great view of the Harbor and closer proximity to Bar Harbor and Acadia’s main entrance. You could probably find a place closer to town, but you won’t have the view. You can probably find a place with a view, but you’ll have to drive more everyday to experience the park. This location is perfect for beautiful sunrises over the water and the convenience of short drives. The house is bigger than it looks and the layout is very functional. The owners still frequent the main property next door and are very nice.

  59. Nicole & Drew

We came to Acadia for my 40th birthday. Its the first time we’ve ever been away from our 4 children. We couldn’t have asked for a better 1st trip to Maine. We were able to cross so many things off our bucket list. Some of the highlights of our trip, coffee on the deck, sunset strolls, blueberry pancakes at 2 Cat’s, drinks and mac at Side Street, Bass Harbor Light House and Wonderland trail. Thank you for amazing memories!

  60. Hayes family from FL

Wonderful week. House is perfect. We enjoyed water views and comfortable beds. Several diners at the Chart Room, Geddys and Gaylyns (my favorite) Jordan Pond was a fairly easy hike. Hope to return.

  61. Guest from MA

Comfortable and spacious home with lovely views of Hulls Cove from most rooms. Gorgeous deck area, overlooking a classic Maine rock beach-fun to explore. Very convenient to Acadia National Park, quick drive into downtown Bar Harbor. Would recommend highly for adults and families with children age 10+

  62. Guest

Had a great stay. Lots of hiking. House was very comfortable.

  63. Ang, Con, Jul, Meig & Tam

We came to Mount Desert Island and Bar Harbor for my 50th birthday trip. This trip was exactly what I needed. 5 of us stayed here. This house was a gem. If we ever come back this will be our first choice. Great location and easy access to everything on our to do list. Thank you for the great view and a much needed place to relax.

  64. Rio, Bryce, Steph & Chris

This place was awesome! Great home base for four friends to explore Maine. If you have the chance visit Isle au Haut and Schoodic Point, and hike as many trails in Acadia as possible. Deep sea fishing is also a must. Acadia Deep Sea Fishing Tours is the only tour that also shows you how lobsters are caught and they give you one to bring home as well. This place was great to come and relax after all the adventures.

  65. Maura & Jim

We had a great time! Thanks!

  66. Clark family

Us and our 5 children ages 13-17 visited MDI for the first time ever. We had a fabulous time. Loved seeing seals out in the cove as we canoed each morning. Loved out experience here so much.

I spent a lovely fourth of July weekend and following week on this magical property with my whole family and some good friends. The National Park is so close and truly unbelievable.

  74. Jackson family

We had an amazing time and enjoyed every minute of these wonderful views. We only had one stormy day after which we saw 3 seals feeding for over 45 minutes on Sand Beach. Nature cruise, carriage rides, lots of great food and views.

  75. Guest from MA

Great Accommodations made for an awesome vacation. Hiking, Biking, kayaking we did it all. Relaxing and unwinding on the deck (AM and PM) made for a perfect start and end of the day. What a view!! 15 of us rented both houses, hate to see it end. Thank you!

  76. Damon family

We had a great time here!

  77. Miller family

We spent a fantastic week here. The house is in a perfect location for going to the park everyday. It was also in a perfect location between Ellsworth and Bar Harbor!

  78. Richardson family

Our first trip to Bar Harbor and the Acadia National Park area. We thoroughly enjoyed walking, eating and drinking down town. It was very busy, but understand its a favorite time of year to be here. We went through the beautiful park, Cadillac Mountain and Jordan Pond. We took an excursion to Winter Harbor and Schoodic Point. The rock formations were fantastic. We loved you home and its location close to Bar Harbor with a great view of Hulls Cove and beyond. If we get back to Bar Harbor again we would return to this wonderful home-thank you!

  79. Finckenor family

    Hello from Alabama!
My dad last time we visited MDI and Acadia realized that every time we visit, we hike the same couple of trails and really hadn’t seen what Acadia has to offer. So with that goal in mind and a year of planning we have now..
Hiked every peak accessible, seen every carriage road bridge, and we saw the beautiful park from many different places and were never tired of the views. Goals accomplished! Thanks again for a lovely home away from home.

  80. Hill family

Our 10th year coming to Bar Harbor, but our 1st time staying in the beautiful house! Our kids had a blast exploring the beach and we could never get sick of the view! We hope to return next year. Thank you so much!

  81. Thomas

My family and I had a wonderful time staying at this waterfront home. It was very convenient to the Acadia National Park entrance and a short drive to the center of Bar Harbor. There are great water views from just about every room in the house, especially from the living room and deck. We enjoyed the kayaks and walks along the shore. Breathtaking sunrises can be viewed from the deck or a short walk down the road. The kitchen was well equipped, including paper goods and basic extras (salt, pepper, sugar etc.) The home office setup with 2 monitors, keyboard, mouse and printer came in handy for some office work that came up. For convivence we ordered take out from the Chart Room restaurant (just down the road) one night and were pleased with the food. We would definitely stay here again.

  82. Nathan

Our family thoroughly enjoyed the property in what was a last minute trip for us to Maine From the beginning Jennifer was great and even provided us with a number of activity suggestions in the area. The property was clean, easy to access, and in a great location right on Hulls Cove, minutes from everything Bar Harbor has to offer. Our experience with the property just made the trip that much better. Thank you!

Place is beautiful-bedrooms and main living space all have great water views looking out across from Bar Harbor. Easy access to Visitor’s Center parking for Acadia National Park. Almost everything feels new, clean and spacious. Even on a rainy day the ability to sit in the main living area and have such great views is wonderful. In nice weather, the deck is even better. Kayaks couldn’t be more convenient and water is quite calm, making it a great impromptu activity for even small kids. Perfect for a family.

Really nice property, well equipped and extremely convenient for visiting all of Mount Desert Island and the surrounding area.

Great location-access to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park was easy. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, nice deck and a very sunny living area with a new LCD TV. Very beautiful area to walk on the loop road nearby.

    Lovely house, well stocked.

Great house right on Frenchman’s Bay with convenient access to Hull’s Cove entrance to Acadia National Park. Had everything we needed for a great vacation!

We had a great trip to Bar Harbor and were able to find this nice house just outside of downtown. On the water with canoes and kayaks. A short walk away is the Chart Room, a casual indoor/outdoor seafood dining place. The food was excellent. The house we rented was just about perfect for our size group. We would rent again.

Covend Guest House was a comfortable, convenient place to stay. I would stay here again.

Extraordinary view from all main rooms. Perfect location for hiking Acadia. The house was larger than the photos depicted and appointed beautifully. Loads of closet space. We loved our stay!!! Would definitely book again.

We had the best time in Maine and at this property. It was clean and well taken care of and the location and views were gorgeous! The house and kitchen were well stocked. We will always be incredibly grateful for the time we spent here and hope to come back one day!

The house is set up beautifully. The common living area was perfect for our combination of family and friends. With three bedrooms there’s lots of privacy as needed. The kitchen had everything we needed. The best feature is the deck and living room windows directly over looking the cove. Its a perfect place to catch the sunrise. We surely would have utilized the kayaks as well but its a little late in the season for us. The proximity to town and to Acadia is great-just a couple of miles away. The only downside is the noise from the road, but that didn’t cause us much of an issue. We’ll surely be coming back here again! Thanks for sharing your awesome house with us.

The house was a great location for everything we wanted to do, with plenty of space for everyone. Very clean and comfortable. You cant beat the view from the living room and bedrooms. Fantastic kitchen with all the amenities, plus a gas grill outside on the patio. Road noise took some getting used to, but I took that as the price to pay for being just a couple minutes from the park. Lovely flowers in the yard and birds to watch.

The views are stunning. The house was immaculate, and the furnishings were very comfortable. There is some traffic noise, but it didn’t bother us at all. If I could give it more that 5 stars, I would. The location is excellent for enjoying all of the sights that Bar Harbor, and Acadia National Park have to offer.

Great new property recently built. Very comfortable furnishings and amenities. Very comfortable kitchen for cooking. The outdoor deck and furnishings are a fantastic plus, sitting on the water overlooking Hulls Cove.
