This home is RIGHT on the beach! Looking out the great room window at high tide, you would think you were on a boat! Play on the beach or enjoy the wonderful sunset– nicely appointed, with great views. Master bedroom upstairs with queen bed and private bath, main floor has open kitchen/dining/living rooms with another bath and the lower level (still with a view) has another bedroom with two twin beds as well as bunk beds. What a wonderful cottage. The internet photos do not do this home justice. The pristine and calm shore could not be a more perfect setting for a vacation. We hauled our two kayaks from northern Virginia and used them every day. We were fortunate to glimpse an otter and a bald eagle from the beach. The hammocks, especially the one on the porch were used regularly. The nautical details were so well done in the house. We kept finding interesting decor everyday around the house. Our favorites were the gargoyles in the corner of the ceiling, the carved sailboats on the stair case banister, the etched and carved sailboat on the master bath door and the church pew on the porch! This cottage is a true Bar Harbor charmer. We had a fantastic time and are already planning next summer’s return trip.
What a lovely week we had. Your home and beach were just perfect for our family of four. We hiked the Ship Harbor Nature Trail and loved the Island Cruises Nature Afternoon Cruise out of Bass Harbor. Saw seals, porpoise, bald eagles, bird life and learned a ton about the islands off the coast, porcupines and all collected beach glass galore, made a camp fire, saw the Timber Tina Lumber Jack show, Jordan Pond, Sand Beach, Thunder Hole, Cadillac Mountain and many trails. Biked the Witch Pond Trail/Carriage Roads. Sampled ice creams and several restaurants. The mornings and evenings on this beach all made it magical. Thank you!
What a wonderful place! Thank you so much for sharing your home with us – we were so comfortable we didn’t want to leave! For our first trip to Maine, we couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. This place has such a cool vibe from the timber construction to every detail of the decor – well done! If we ever make it back this we we will be back to Shiver Me Timbers!

If up early enough, you can walk along the cove to catch the morning sun rise at low tide. We saw seals and porpoises on several occasions. This has been an unbelievable trip! Thanks!
